Ushers |
|
Our Sunday morning ushers are men ages
9th grade through adults. Their dedication and
service is appreciated by all. Usher training is
periodically scheduled and each usher receives a monthly
schedule. New
ushers are always needed - contact the church office or head
usher.

Video Operators |
|
Our Video Operators work in teams of two
to run the projection equipment used at the 9:30 a.m. and
11:00 a.m. Sunday Worship services (10:00 a.m. in the summer),
and at special services.
Each operator is scheduled about once per
month.

Sound System Operators |
|
Sound System Operators are needed at each
Worship Service and serve for one month at a time,
approximately every three
months.

Greeters |
|
It is truly nice to be greeted at the
door by a smiling and friendly face as you come for worship.
It is a good way to meet others in our congregation and make
visitors feel welcome.

Sunday School |
|
There are many volunteer opportunities to
assist with our Sunday School program for children aged 3
through fifth grade. Teachers, aides, music leaders, and
missions helpers are all
needed.

Nursery Attendants |
|
Adults and youth are needed to staff our
Church nursery every Sunday during our Worship Services. If
you enjoy working with small children, this is a great
volunteer opportunity for
you.

Altar Guild |
|
This group takes care of the Altar area
of the church sanctuary. They prepare Holy Communion and set
out appropriate flowers each Sunday. They put up banners
and clean the Altar area. They play an important role in
ensuring that Sunday Worship services are properly prepared
for. Altar Guild members are scheduled in monthly serving
teams and new members are always
welcome.

Banner Committee |
|
This group makes and maintains the
banners displayed in our church sanctuary. They ensure that we
have beautiful banners appropriate for the various seasons of
the church year and for special occasions such as
weddings.

Food for Families |
|
This group provides wholesome meals for
anyone in our community who would like to come and eat. They
serve from 4:00 to 5:30 p.m. every Friday. They are part of a
cooperative effort by the Lapeer churches to provide food for
families of the Lapeer area. Volunteers are always
needed for this worthwhile ministry. The program accepts
donations of food and other supplies to be distributed to
those who have need.

Vacation Bible School
|
|
Vacation Bible School is a program held during the
month of July for children ages 3 years through 5th
grade. It is a
week of Bible study, crafts, snacks, singing, recreation,
fellowship and fun.
Many adults and older youth are needed for teachers,
aides, craft workers, recreation, preparing snacks, and
registration.

Community
Gardens |
|
St. Paul
has developed a beautiful community garden, providing plots to
low-income families to assist them in growing food for
their family.

Divorce
Care |
|
Divorce Care is a
weekly series designed to help you recover from the pain of
separation and divorce. Divorce Care is held at
St.
Paul on Wednesdays at 7

Free Coat
Program |
|
St.
Paul runs a coat give-away program each
fall. Members of
our community who are in need, may come by on Saturday
mornings from mid-October through mid-December and select free
winter coats, hats, scarves, gloves and boots. We are always looking
for donations of winter apparel from our congregation or
community.

The Refuge
Shelter |
|
St.
Paul participates in the Refuge
homeless shelter project. During cold weather
months, area churches take turns hosting the homeless in our
community. Help
is needed in many areas of this project: transportation to and
from the in-take site, providing meals, chaperoning of our
guests, providing laundry services. Watch the church
newsletter for the dates of this program and find a way to
offer your assistance and show God's love to the needy in our
community. |

4th of July
Celebration |
|
At
St.
Paul, we love to celebrate the
4th of July!
Our parking lot is the best spot in town to view the
Lapeer fireworks display. Before the show
begins, we have lots of fun activities for the whole family –
food, games, music, tours of St. Paul
School. Lots of help is always
needed for this great event.

Quilting
Circle |
|
Do you like to sew? The Quilting
Circle meets every Wednesday at
9:00 a.m. at the church, using their talents to make quilts
for Lutheran World Relief. They make over 200 quilts each
year!

Stephen
Ministry |
|
Are you going through
a tough time - emotionally or spiritually? Are you struggling
with a crisis in life or simply feeling down? Consider letting
a Stephen Minister help. A Stephen Minister is a member of our
congregation who is trained to listen, care, encourage, pray,
and walk alongside you during difficult times. It's confidential,
free, and very helpful.

Adult
Voice Choir |
|
Our Adult Voice Choir meets for practice
every Wednesday at 7:00 p.m. from September through May.
Anyone who loves to sing praises to our Lord is welcome to
join. Our Adult Voice choir performs on select Sundays
throughout the year, providing a beautiful addition to our
worship services. In addition, special
performances are included during the Lenten and Easter season
and the Advent and Christmas season.

Team |
|
Our Praise Team is an instrumental and
vocal group that plays contemporary music for our blended
worship services. They lead the congregation in song, and
perform pre-service, post-service and offertory selections.
The Praise Team meets for practice on Saturday mornings, twice
a month.

Children's Choir |

Our Children's Choir is for singers in
grades 1 - 5. They perform in Sunday Worship services at
various times throughout the year to the delight of our
congregation.

Handbell
Choirs |
|
St.
Paul has
two handbell choirs that enhance our Worship services with
beautiful music. They perform on various Sunday mornings and
during special services such as Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve
and Easter. The Genesis Ringers are a handbell choir for those
new to ringing or with less experience. They practice every
Wednesday at 6:00 p.m.
The Sine Nomine Ringers are a more advanced handbell
choir consisting of experienced ringers. They practice every
Wednesday at 7:00 p.m.

Voter's
Assembly |
|
This group is the governing authority in
the congregation. Any confirmed member ofSt. Paul
who is 18 years old or older is eligible to become a voting
member by attending any voter's meeting and stating that they
wish to become a voting member. This is the final
decision-making body of the congregation and we encourage all
adult church members to participate. One regular voter's
assembly is held annually in November. Special meetings are
held as announced.

Council |
|
The Voter's Assembly
of St. Paul empowers the Church Council to govern the
congregation through the establishment of policies and
monitoring compliance to these policies. The
St.
Paul staff is directed by policy to
make the day-to-day operational decisions of the congregation.
They are to act in compliance with policies set by the
Council. |

Nursing |

St.
Paul has a Parish Nurse who offers
services such as free CPR and First Aid training and blood
pressure screenings.
She is a good source of information and can schedule
group presentations on a variety of health-related
topics.

Dinner Serving |
|
This group serves a dinner for families
of the congregation that have lost a loved one. This is a
greatly appreciated work of love for families at a time when
they have a need. Helpers are needed to prepare food, to set
up, serve, and clean up.
